Robert P. Gillard II began his career in 1999 at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown in Los Angeles and London, where he worked on a private wealth management team focused on high-net-worth clients. He worked closely with business managers and CPA’s to deliver comprehensive wealth management and outstanding service to wealthy families and corporate executives.
After receiving his CFP® certification in 2011, Rob earned the position of Account Executive at Fidelity Investments in Pasadena, where he was responsible for overseeing 410 households and $450 million in brokerage and advisory assets, and helped clients with retirement planning, portfolio management, tax strategies, insurance needs, and estate planning.
Rob joins California Financial Partners Inc. as a partner and utilizes his financial planning experience to deliver outstanding, high-end service and advice to families, corporate executives, and business owners. He enjoys the benefits of being an independent advisor and finds that his experience is well utilized in life changing events, such as retirement, inheritance, divorce, losing a spouse, and business sales/transitions. Rob also advises same-sex couples on the unique financial planning considerations they encounter.
Rob is a CFP® professional and holds the CIMA™ (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation. He also holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations with LPL Financial, as well as his California life and health insurance license (CA Insurance Lic #0G52128).
A native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, Rob attended the University of Miami and graduated with a BBA in finance with honors in 1999. An avid tennis fan, Rob tries to spend much of his free time on the tennis court. He also served as a mentor through the Fulfillment Fund, a Los Angeles based organization that assists disadvantaged youth to gain access to higher education, as well as the Point Foundation, an organization that empowers promising LGBT students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential to make a significant impact on society.
