Ed graduated with a BA degree in Economics in 1985 from Brigham Young University. Ed served a two-year mission for the LDS Church in Kobe Japan from 1979 to 1981. An Eagle Scout himself Ed was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and earned the adult Woodbadge Scouting Award. Four of his five sons are also Eagle Scouts with his only daughter Jenna earning the Eagle equivalent Gold Award for Girl Scouts. He was married to his late wife, Monica, for 40 years and is the father of six children and the grandfather of seven with another grandchild due January 2026.
