    The California Financial Partners
    Process

      Initial Meeting

Our “serve first” process of financial planning guides us during our initial meeting. We want to get to know the client, and the client wants to get to know us. We will confirm what work the client has previously done with other advisors, who are the family members and their various roles, and, most important, what is the client trying to accomplish for himself, his business, and his family. Many good advisors will follow this same process.

      Coordination of Other Disciplines

What sets California Financial Partners apart is that we also want to involve the other disciplines right at the beginning of the process. The coordination of the CPA, attorney, insurance agent, investment broker, personal banker, actuary, trust officer etc. is vital if we are going to get the client on a roadmap to effectively and efficiently achieve the goals and objectives that most families have in common.

      Comprehensive Review and Analysis

Our extensive experience enables us to quickly uncover hidden problems that are revealed after reviewing the client’s documentation. We thoroughly review their wills and trusts, business agreements, personal and business tax returns, financial statements, insurance policies, investment statements, qualified and non-qualified plan documents.

      Report and Presentation

Components of a Financial PlanAfter this review, we will proceed by providing the client with a plan which incorporates the four major areas of planning: estate and charitable planning, investment, fringe benefits, and business continuity planning. Once this is accomplished, the client is free to take our recommendations and use us as the agent or broker of record for any investment or insurance products that they may need. At no time do we lead with a product recommendation. Diagnosis and planning precedes the implementation.

      Implementation and Follow-up

Once a plan is completed and implemented involving all of the necessary disciplines for a successful outcome, then we will meet with the client reviewing their investment portfolio on a quarterly basis. We do not use an “auto-pilot” approach to investing. (Those are programs specifically designed to pay the rep up front and have the investments remain dormant or, at best, programmed to be changed automatically.) We believe it is important to consider current economic conditions when making investment decisions. That requires human interaction and we believe that quarterly meetings are the best way to achieve the desired results for our clients. We could not use this method if we had hundreds of clients. Therefore, we limit the number of clients to a manageable level. Our clients know they are special.
