Senior Financial Advisor
Richard P. Crean brings 40 years of financial planning experience to his role as Financial Advisor with California Financial Partners, Inc. (CFP). Headquartered in Glendale, Calif., CFP is a registered investment advisor and fee-based financial planning organization, which also maintains an office in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
Rich began his financial services industry career in 1969 with Prudential Financial, managing the Claremont, Calif., office. In 1972, he became a partner in Lamb, Redman and Crean, a financial and insurance services firm in Los Angeles serving mid-market and corporate clients. In 1980, Rich shifted his focus to the Inland Empire, where he founded a new firm, Crean and Schack, Inc., which provided investment, employee benefit and insurance products and services to corporate accounts, and investment and insurance products and services to individuals.
After Crean and Schack merged with Averbeck Company in 1989, Rich became President and CEO of the merged organization. Averbeck, based in Ontario, served more than 500 corporate clients and 1,500 individual clients, making it the largest employee benefits and property-casualty broker in the Inland Empire.
In 2000, after selling Averbeck Company to a large national broker, Rich joined Harvey Jacobson and H. Scott Wedgbury at California Financial Partners, Inc. The three were brought together by a shared focus and philosophy in financial services – assisting corporate clients with qualified plan design and management, and individuals with investment, estate, fringe benefit and business continuity planning.
Rich is a member and former president of the Arrowhead Chapter of the Society for Financial Services Professionals. He is a regular speaker to industry groups on topics such as financial risk, risk management, employee benefits and marketing.
Active in the community, Rich is the Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles County Fair Association, Former Chairman of the Board of the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Rich is on the Board of Trustees of Damien High School in La Verne, CA. He also sits on the Boards of two non-profit foundations and serves in an advisory capacity to a number of community organizations.
Rich enjoys working with clients who live in the the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire areas. These include Glendora, West Covina, Covina, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Chino, Ontario, La Verne, Claremont, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Redlands.
